Teledyne Vision Solutions
Rafael Romay is the President of Teledyne Vision Solutions, where he leads an international portfolio of businesses delivering leading-edge digital imaging cameras and sensors for semiconductor inspection, factory automation, healthcare, life science, environmental, astronomy, earth observation and defense applications.
Mr. Romay joined Teledyne in 2017 as part of the acquisition of e2v technologies plc. Since then he served as Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne e2v Machine Vision Sensors and Executive Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne e2v Aerospace and Defense. In these roles he oversaw the design and manufacture of high-performance Image Sensors for industrial, scientific, healthcare and space applications as well as high-reliability semiconductors (data converters, memories and processors) for avionics, defense and satellite communications.
Prior to this, in 2001, he co-founded the CMOS image sensor specialist company AnaFocus, where he served as Business Development Director and CEO until its acquisition by e2v technologies plc. In 2014, prior to co-founding AnaFocus, Rafael worked as a Design Engineer in Bell Labs and as a Researcher in the Spanish National Center of Microelectronics (IMSE-CNM-CSIC).
Rafael Romay holds a double Master Science Degree in Microelectronics Design and Computer Science from the University of Seville.
