What I love most about my job at Teledyne?
I enjoy the people that I work with. To be able to walk into the office of a really smart person and have them explain the physics or the mechanics behind what we do is a gift not offered at all companies. I get smarter everyday thanks to the kindness and patience of my peers.
How have you juggled both your career and your family?
I get my motivation from the challenges that I have had to overcome, both in life and work.
Juggling career, family, friends and self is an extremely difficult task. At the end of the day, this is always a personal choice with no right or wrong answer. Personally, I worked as an engineer for seven years, then chose to spend five years as a full-time Mom until my kids started school. Being a single income family was not easy but worth it. When my kids were going into middle school, my husband took a year off to be with the kids and his Mom after she got sick. I was grateful to have him around as the kids became teenagers. We also make a point of entertaining and traveling with our friends who are also an important part of our lives. I love the work that I do and the people that I work with. I also love to spend time with my family and friends.
