DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – May 3, 2016 – Teledyne Oil & Gas announced today that it is a recipient of the 2016 Spotlight on New Technology Award from the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), an annual gathering of top oil and gas organizations in Houston, Texas. This award recognizes innovative products and technologies that have the potential to make a significant impact beyond existing technologies.
Teledyne Oil & Gas, a member of Teledyne Marine, received the Spotlight Award for its new Electrical Optical Flying Lead (EOFL). Part of a new family of products called “Active Flying Leads,” the EOFL consists of wet-mateable connectors on either end of a subsea jumper assembly. An electrical to optical converter is embedded into the pressure-balanced, oil-filled hose. The EOFL can replace or limit costly subsea routing or conversion modules by allowing this functionality directly within the jumper assembly, or flying lead.
