Tell us a little about your current role and what you enjoy most about it?
My role is to support the Engineering Systems Segment reporting requirements and oversee the Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Proposal Pricing activities at TBE to ensure our team accurately meets all the many submission deadlines in a manner that is compliant with SEC and Government regulatory guidelines. The days are never boring as there are always new situations to research or issues to resolve. It is immensely satisfying to get an important proposal across the finish line knowing that it may result in multiple years of business for the company.
What are you most proud of in your life – career, accomplishments, etc. ?
I have been fortunate to have enjoyed a career with many opportunities for growth and advancement and am thankful for the mentors that encouraged and challenged me along the way. I have been inspired by many talented coworkers and treasure the life-long friendships developed in the workplace. Faith, a strong work ethic, integrity, caring about others, dedication to excellence are core tenets that are important to me and are values I admire in other leaders.
What are some of the biggest challenges that women face today? How will these change in the next 20 years?
I think one of the biggest challenges facing women (everyone really) in the workplace is the continual balancing of the time and energy needed to be successful at work and to enjoy a full life outside of work. It is important to find personal satisfaction from knowing you did your best, learning and moving on from failures, and taking time to be thankful for successes.
