Tell us a little about your current role and what you enjoy most about it?
In my current role I’m leading work with new technologies, platform planning and innovation market testing together with my team, for the industrial/commercial business unit within Teledyne FLIR. What I enjoy most with this work is to be able to follow the whole process from idea into the hand of the customer.
I’m happy to have been trusted with the responsibility to drive technology choices and platforms for our entire product portfolio. Doing this work in close collaboration with the extremely talented engineers we have is a true privilege for me.
What are you most proud of in your life – career, accomplishments, etc. ?
I’m an engineer at heart with a good understanding of the whole system and a strong interest in the business aspects. I love explaining technology to non-engineers, breaking it down to a simple enough level for everyone to understand but detailed enough to have meaningful discussions on directions to proceed. Previously in my career I’m proud to have led the technical design work in a direction to reduce complexity that resulted in reduced time to market, lowered cost and improved yields, while continuing to satisfy customers. Have you drawn professional inspiration from other women? Tell us about someone who has inspired you.
I really admire a female close childhood friend of mine that went into the field of behavioral science for her ability to analyze and reflect over how people behave in different situations and connect it to the science she studied. We can discuss how to be a motivational leader for hours and I always learn something. Throughout my life and career, I have always been inspired by all kinds of people regardless of gender.
