Teledyne Brown Receives Safety Award From NASA
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (November 7, 2005) - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. (TBE) today received a Safety Award from NASA for attaining two million man-hours without a Lost Time Accident (LTA) on its Propellants, Pressurants and Calibration (PP&C) contract at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
Teledyne Brown's last LTA was in March of 1992, 13 and a half years ago.
"This is quite an achievement for Teledyne Brown," noted David King, Director, MSFC. "I would like to extend congratulations to the Teledyne employees who help Marshall reach our safety goals."
"This award reflects the high quality of work performed by our employees for NASA," said Jim Link, president, Teledyne Brown Engineering. "We are proud to accept this recognition and will continue to provide our nation's space program with the highest caliber performance possible."
Teledyne Brown has been operating and maintaining MSFC's propellant, high-pressure and cryogenic systems for the past 34 years. MSFC has recognized the company's extended safety record with several awards including, three MSFC Director's Commendations Safety Awards, one MSFC Safety Excellence Award and two NASA Safety Awards. These awards recognized the excellent leadership and safety management procedures executed in support of this key NASA program.
The award was presented during a ceremony this morning at MSFC.
